The cabriolet 404 made by dinky is one of the more attractive miniature 404s. Manufactured from 1965 under the reference 528, it was sold in three colors : white, cream, and metal blue.

The details include a driver, moving doors and hood.

The underside, no longer in stamped sheet metal, was made with a mold and shows some detail for the motor, the muffler, the suspension, etc... The markings are "Dinky Toys - Peugeot 404 Pininfarina - Mecano - Made in France - 1/43 - 65 - 528".

The front licence plate is metal grey while the rear licence plate is painted yellow, neither with painted digits. The front lights, both warning and normal lights, are "diamond" style and the rear lights are painted in red.

The box, illustrated by Jean Macé, shows a blue cabriolet with a yellow interior and a woman driver with black glasses and a scarf on a road next to a beach. The original packing material included a round carton insert to protect the driver and fragile windshield.
